Add InstaBids to your AI assistant

Add the InstaBids connector to your AI assistant once, sign in to your InstaBids account, and you can start a home job and see its bids from inside your chat. Claude, Cursor and VS Code have a one-click button; for the others you copy the connector URL and follow their steps.

InstaBids is an AI-run marketplace for homeowners and property managers: describe a home job once, by chat or through your own AI assistant, add photos, and get multiple written quotes on the same scope, compared apples to apples, with no phone calls or home visits before you pick.

MCP connector · REST API · plain HTML

Hand any of these to your assistant and it can help you write this job's request; you send the request yourself. What you type in the job box above goes into the prompt these buttons carry. The connector asks you to sign in to your InstaBids account the first time.

Starting a job and the public tools work without an account; your jobs and bids need sign-in.

Steps follow each assistant's own help page, linked under it. Sources read 2026-10-22. Menus change; if a step looks different, the help page has the current one.

Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop and the Claude mobile app)

Add to Claude

  1. Use the Add to Claude button: it opens Claude's Add custom connector form with the name and URL filled in. Or open Customize, Connectors, +, Add custom connector, name it InstaBids and paste the connector URL.
  2. Choose Continue, then Sign in now, and sign in with Google.
  3. Choose Add. The connector also shows up in Claude Desktop, the Claude mobile app and Claude Code.

On Team and Enterprise plans an Owner adds it first (Organization settings, Connectors, Add, Custom, Web); members then choose Connect.

ChatGPT

  1. Copy the connector URL.
  2. On the web, open chatgpt.com/plugins, choose +, then Add custom MCP server.
  3. Give it the name InstaBids, paste the URL, choose OAuth sign-in, tick I understand and want to continue, then Create as a plugin.
  4. Sign in with Google when ChatGPT asks.

Starting a job works only where your plan allows custom connectors with actions, not only read and fetch. Which ChatGPT plans can add a custom MCP server, and with what permissions, differs by plan; on Business only admins and owners can add one. See OpenAI's page.

  2. In your agent, open Tools, Add a tool, New tool, Model Context Protocol.
  3. Name it InstaBids, paste the URL, choose OAuth 2.0 with Dynamic discovery, then Create and Add to agent.

This is Copilot Studio, Microsoft's agent builder, which needs a Copilot Studio licence; we found no way to add a custom connector to the everyday Copilot app.

Any other MCP assistant

  1. Copy the connector URL and add it as a remote (streamable HTTP) MCP server with OAuth sign-in.
