How much does a concrete driveway cost?

The survey item is "Added or replaced driveways or walkways". It does not say whether the surface was concrete, asphalt or pavers, or how large it was, so a short front path and a long double driveway are both in the range above.

Seven in ten of these jobs went to a paving contractor: the hired-out share is 70 percent, higher than flooring at 63 percent.

EPA's page on cool pavements sets out what moves the figure on any paving job: the region, the contractor, the season, the materials, access to the site, what is available locally, the soil underneath, the size of the project, the traffic expected and how long the surface has to last.

How much does a pavers driveway cost?

EPA adds that these surfaces can filter out pollutants, can cut the need for road salt, and can reduce some conventional drainage features on a building site.

Surface heat differs too. EPA cites an Arizona pilot in which conventional asphalt reached 152 degrees Fahrenheit at midday while cool pavements stayed 10 to 16 degrees cooler.
