Is there a home repair grant in Texas?

Amy Young Barrier Removal (AYBR) Program, Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA), State of Texas

The AYBR Program is funded through the State Housing Trust Fund, a biennial State authorized allocation.

The AYBR program is not available in all areas of Texas.

TDHCA contracts with nonprofit organizations and local governments to administer the AYBR Program.

TDHCA assistance and funds go to local provider organizations, NOT individuals directly. TDHCA does not accept applications from individuals.

If you are a household or individual looking for assistance with Accessibility modification, please visit our Help For Texans page. Select “Home Repair/Accessibility Modifications” and “Show only Home Modification for Accessibility providers” and enter your city or county to find a local AYBR provider as well as other home repair assistance programs.

Providers listed may be at capacity with their funds, and may not be able to assist all who call them. If no provider is available, check with your local city or county about available assistance resources.
